Amish Farming

Nothing says farming better than cows.  Mmmmm gotta love that smell.  Well I guess you don’t have to love it, I don’t particulary like it myself.  But when you’re in Amish country I guarantee you will smell it.  These aren’t huge farms with thousands of cows here.  Just a few here and there and since the cows are milked by hand (remember Amish don’t use electricity) they probably like it that way.

They do grow crops up here too.  The field are plowed with horses and are watered from the skies above.  Looks like these field are getting a little help from Above today.  As I drove by here I was amazed at how the sunbeams were shining down in alignment with the trees.  Even though I was very tempted to Photoshop the sunbeams more I didn’t.  This was straight out of the camera.  If you look closely you’ll see a few stray beams of light.  Those must be for the neighbors’ farms.
