So as we were cruising through Glacier Bay we got a little closer to some of the walls of ice. The cruise ships don’t want to get too close due to an incident in 1912. It’s really amazing how the blues and greens come out of the ice. And I love the contrast of the stark grey sky and mountains in the background.
Here’s a zoomed in shot of one of the glaciers. The darker black and brown material is all the dirt and rocks that get picked up and ground up by the glaciers moving forward and back through the seasons. Cool huh !
